A Woodbridge event seeks to shed light on a community issue: opioid addiction.
“Chasing the Red Dragon: The Life of an Opiate Addict” will be shown at The Bungalow Alehouse on Saturday.
The League of Women Voters of Prince William Area is hosting the event.
The documentary, released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), aims to educate viewers about the dangers of opioid addiction.
A discussion will follow the showing, which begins at 10 a.m.
Chrissy Fauls, founder of Why, Incorporated, will be one of the guest speakers.
Why, Incorporated is a Manassas-based non-profit that belongs to the Prevention Alliance Of Greater Prince William Coalition.
It aims to bring topics that are difficult to talk about, such as opioids, to community members.
“It’s pretty much just having open discussions where people can ask questions, feel comfortable and it educates them … It’s just getting the information out there of what’s happening here in Prince William County with this epidemic,” Fauls said.
