Those traveling through Manassas will want to avoid some railroad crossings during the next few days.
Norfolk Southern started work on three crossings today.
Officials are getting them ready for rail replacement, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
The tracks are on Rixlew Lane, located between Wellington Road and Ashton Avenue; on Bethlehem Road, located between Sudley Manor Drive and Burrell Lane; and on Balls Ford Road, located between Wellingford Drive and Randolph Ridge Lane.
Motorists are advised to stay away from the crossings from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday and on Monday.
Those driving on Rixlew Lane are being detoured along Wellington Road, Godwin Drive and Ashton Avenue.
Bethlem Road users will be rerouted to Balls Ford Road, the Prince William Parkway and Sudley Manor Drive.
Individuals on Balls Ford Road are being directed to Wellington Road, Sudley Manor Drive and the Prince William Parkway.
