Cooler months are on their way.
Drivers can prepare for them by completing a basic check.
Automotive experts are suggesting that motorists keep an eye on their vehicle’s tire pressure.
Steve’s Auto Repair & Tire Owner Scott Whitling recommends that they check their tire pressure a couple of times a year or during an oil change.
“When you check your tire pressure and they’re all equally low, it’s just because of the change of temperature,” Whitling said.
A tire should be checked if its pressure is significant lower than the others, because there could be a leak.
Once a vehicle’s low tire pressure light turns on, travelers shouldn’t hesitate to address the issue.
“It causes extra wear on the tires,” Whitling said. “Also, when it comes down to handling and emergency stops, you want those tires performing correctly. You don’t want them being too soft or too flexible, where they’re not able to really do their job.”
